A page featuring the horses that our family currently competes with.  A little about where these horses came from, what they've accomplished, and some insight into their personalities.

Showum Diamonds "Jose"
2000 Black Gelding

They say that trying something once, is all it takes to create an addiction. Well, thanks to "Jose", we are "horse-poor", yet still can't contain ourselves as foaling season approaches each and every year... The big black head horse that you see in this photo was the first foal that we raised, and the fun has continued and grown since then. "Jose" has been a jack of all trades, and ridden by all four of us at some point, and won us numerous titles over the years. He's been rodeo'd on as a head, heel, breakaway, and barrel horse. He's been entered at every level we've ever competed at, and all with an ugly scar on his foot that he got as a 3 year old before he was started. We never expected him to last, but we gave it a shot, and 15 years later I have the privileged of posting this photo of him and our youngest son, Brody, turning a steer at Bow Island CCA rodeo in 2017. He's a true family member that we treasure!

ALG Juno My Rooster
"Leroy"

This 2011 gelding, sired by our very own stallion, Little Lenaroo, has been a tremendous gift for me. It seems like it takes forever to grow these horses up enough to even know what they are - then to have one step out and be a serious contender - its awesome! "Leroy" has numerous jackpot wins, placed at CCA rodeos in 2017, placed at the CBHI Futurity in 2016, Futurity Short-Go Qualifier, and also won our family not one, but two Superstakes cheques (Owner and Breeder). He then returned to the CBHI Derby to place in a round in 2017, in a field of ~150 horses. In 2017, as a 6 year old, Leroy won a round at the SBRA Finals, also. He is honest and works in big pens, small pens, good ground, bad ground...BUT, he is also full of mischief, always untying himself, untying others at the trailer. He is famous for his non-destructive tantrums - bucking while tied, but never kicks anyone, anything, or breaks a shank - just a tantrum. It was a joke when he was a colt that he was the one that would pick up the garbage can and throw it at the other colts, just to watch them react. He is full of personality! As I said, he's a blessing that makes me want to keep going!

Dox Silverado Sandy
"Sandy"

2010 Sorrel Mare that Logan has spent the last couple of years finishing as a heel horse, and seasoning at jackpots and rodeos. "Sandy" has been a wonderful "little big horse" - despite her size, she carries Logan with pride, she is super-loyal to him, and has a ton of heart. She worked outstanding in her first year on the road with Logan, winning and placing at numerous jackpots, at CCA / CRA / LRA Rodeos and at the AHSRA, where he is currently sitting in 2nd spot in the heeling in District 2 and leading Rookie of the Year. She is gritty, loves her job, and loves to work for Logan. When we handed him this mare as a project after we purchased her in 2015, we had no idea what this team would accomplish - we are so proud of them! And so excited for their future!

"Banjo"
An unregistered Dun Gelding, "Banjo" has been in our trailer for about a year and a half. He was previously owned and ridden by Jonathon Drake, and has numerous CPRA accomplishments and earnings. He and Aaron have also done some winning, including numerous jackpot wins and placings, and some CCA and CRA rodeo earnings in 2017. "Banjo" is the quirkiest of them all - despite being about 16 years young, he's full of spook and snort, and loves to act like a scared colt at times - but in the arena, he's all business and no bluff. An exceptionally strong head horse that knows his job.

2008 Black Mare.

Our black beauty! "Shadow" was our first horse that we ever put out there as a barrel futurity horse, invested in the best trainer for her that we knew (Rusty Quam), and tried to get our name out as breeders. She and Rusty exceeded any and every expectation that we ever dreamed of - "Shadow's" earnings were over $21,000 in that futurity year, and ended with a title that I never imaged - Canadian Champion!!! She was the 2013 Canadian Barrel Futurity High Point Champion. "Shadow" then taught me what fast felt like - I won jackpots, placed at rodeos and Derby's and got to enjoy the ride. She is currently in foal to our stallion Little Lenaroo, so she made limited runs in 2017. She still placed deep at the SBRA and ABRA Finals, and made it back to both short-gos. My excitement for this 2018 foal is unexplainable - due to some drinks and fun conversation over a fire at a clinic we hosted, the foal has been named since it was a big black dot on an ultrasound monitor - ALG MFC...for My Future Champion, ;).

Praying for a healthy baby, a smooth delivery and yes, "Shadow" will return to the arena in 2019.

JT Super Win
2005 Sorrel Mare

This mare was purchased from John King as a weanling because of her dam's genetics - that dam had similar genetics to a gelding that we had owned and we wanted another! "Winnie" has been a head, heel and barrel horse, solid and accomplished at them all! She was handed over to Logan to heel off of in 2015, when he needed a step-up horse and we were struggling to find a suitable candidate. They did great in their first years of competition, teaching Logan how to be the confident and competitive young man that he is today. She was side-lined in 2017, so as to give Logan an opportunity to season his younger horse, but with her having been "Mom's" heel horse originally, I think her rest is over and she and Mom might soon returned to the roping pen. OR she may become Brody's step-up head horse,... OR another thought that has crossed our minds, is what a great cross she would be with our stallion, Little Lenaroo, to produce some nice rope horses. So many options for her, as she's so versatile and has been such a good one for our whole family!
